Llanidloes Chamber 'Constitution'

1. That the Name of the Association be the Llanidloes and District Chamber of Trade.

2. All persons engaged in business within Llanidloes and the surrounding districts as representatives of such businesses shall be eligible for Membership.

3. That the Chamber be non-political.

4. That the Officers of the Chamber shall consist of Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Hon Secretary and Treasurer.

5. That the Chamber can appoint as many members as in its discretion decides necessary to act together with the Officers as an Executive Committee.

6. 3 members of the Executive Committee to form a quorum.

7. That the Officers and Executive Committee be elected Annually at the Annual General Meeting, any vacancy that may occur during the year to be filled at the next General Meeting or at an Extraordinary General meeting.

8. That the Chairman and Secretary be empowered to call an Extraordinary General Meeting at any time.

9. That the Financial year shall commence on the first day of March each year and that the Annual General Meeting shall be held during the month, when the Hon. Secretary and Treasurer respectively shall present a Report and Balance Sheet.

10. That the Subscriptions for Members shall be decided annually.

11. That subscriptions shall be paid in advance, and shall be due on the first day of March in each year. No person whose subscription for the previous year has not been paid shall be eligible for office, or to vote at the Annual General Meeting.

12. That the Chamber and Executive Committee meets when the Executive Committee decides is necessary. Meetings to be held at least quarterly.

13. No rule may be rescinded or altered, nor any new rule adopted, except at the Annual General Meeting or at an Extraordinary General Meeting and not less than 7 days notice of any proposed alteration shall be given in writing to the Secretary.

14. That the Bankers of the Chambers be the Llanidloes Branch of HSBC Bank plc.

15. That cheques issued on behalf of the Chamber shall be signed by any two of the Officers.
